Privacy Policy

Any comments that are posted on this site will be treated as public, and the site administration reserves the right to disallow or edit any hateful, abusive, or just plain mean comments. We intend to use any contact information that’s provided for marketing purposes, but will honor requests to opt out, so long as they’re written in clear text on sufficiently large US bills, generously denominated money orders, or valid checks with lots of zeroes after the leading numeral.

Who we are

Our website address is: http://proststageproduction.com.

Our founders are Joel Frapart and George Morris. These two writers met while acting in a show at the Pocket Sandwich Theater, when it was at the Mockingbird Lane, Dallas location. ProstStageProductions came out of their writing partnership.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

Please do not upload images, video, or sound files to this site that you do not own or have the right to share. If you upload images to the website, we recommend avoiding images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) or anything embarrassing that has been incompletely cropped out. Visitors to the website can download and extract various types of data from files shared on the website.

Cookies

We encourage you to leave comments on our site, and make it easy for you to opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience and are not designed for tracking purposes. They will allow you to skip a few steps, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies duration before expiration is one year.

When you visit our login page, we will create a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This temp cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, several cookies may be configured to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for 12 months. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 24 hours.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.) that we have no control over. We will try to clearly mark this type of content and give credit wherever possible. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website, so there may be instances with other sites that we link to following different privacy policies.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email. We also do plan to assist in any way possible with law enforcement or private investigators chasing down online misdeeds or harassment. So, just don’t do it here!

We also give copies of everything we receive to the nice little man in black who comes by weekly. He didn’t ask for anything, but made it very clear that he was going to get all the data one way or another.

How long we retain your data

Forever. Or, until we forget to back-up our files / spill a beer on our back-up server, or accidentally delete everything while trying to get a cool background graphic installed (WHY IS THAT SO HARD, WORDPRESS?!?).

In other words, if you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely (unless we delete it). This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username once selected). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. We will honor these requests as our scheduling and technical expertise allows – which means there may be some lengthy delays. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

We currently have no marketing partners with access to our data. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Mostly, we’ll just look at it every couple of days (or months) to make sure everything is working correctly here and then tweak as needed.
